Support in Ghana

Bode Supports Community in Ghana

Since 1988, a flourishing partnership has existed between the communities of Hiltrup and Sirigu in northern Ghana. Over the years, numerous visits have taken place, including one in January/February of this year when a delegation from the church community made the long journey to Sirigu. Alongside enriching personal encounters, the focus was on the progress of joint projects.

Support for the Local School

One particularly exciting project is the construction of a three-classroom school building. The construction, which commenced in December, is progressing rapidly. The building is constructed with sturdy cement blocks and is already equipped with a kitchen and a small storage room for school supplies. The new classrooms will help alleviate the overcrowded conditions at the school. Currently, the school accommodates 600 students and 12 teachers, often leading to classrooms with up to 80 children. The completion of the roof structure and roofing is still pending.

During the visit to the "Christian Mothers," a dedicated women's community, our company provided financial support. The church community from Hiltrup has consistently expressed gratitude for this ongoing assistance. In Sirigu, the "Christian Mothers" strive to generate income for their projects through the production of shea butter. The partner community had the opportunity to showcase the process of shea butter production to the visitors from Hiltrup. Within four days, high-quality products were created from shea seeds. The process involved washing, sorting, cracking, roasting, extracting, stirring, cleaning, heating, and bottling. This work entails physical exertion for the women, but they take pride in the result. Since the German side experienced this process firsthand, we now have a greater appreciation for the valuable work behind every product containing shea butter.

As Bode Planungsgesellschaft, we are proud to support this longstanding collaboration and witness the progress made. We look forward to continuing to follow this partnership as it serves as an outstanding example of how cultural exchange and sustainable initiatives can have a positive impact on communities globally and locally.
